Director, National Programs

The Director, National Programs is responsible for managing all of CBS’ Canadian programs working directly with the Regional Directors and their teams. S/he will oversee the regional teams to ensure collaboration and effectiveness in the following key areas:

  • growing the presence of CBS in local churches;
  • working with districts and helping them grow;
  • identifying and developing programs for local churches and partners that are rooted in CBS’ four pillars of translation, publishing, distribution, and engagement;
  • increasing the visibility of CBS’ ministry in various segments of society;
  • increasing income from churches, large gift donors, and through fundraising activities.

Director of Scripture Resource

The Director of Scripture Resoruce will work collaboratively with the Board of Governors, the Senior Management Team, other staff and Regional Councils/District Boards on the strategic development and implementation of initiatives in support of effective and cost-efficient Scripture distribution.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing strategic and agile leadership to a team of approximately 20 individuals including seven direct reports;
  • Direct the organization’s wholesale, retail, production and distribution operations through market research; marketing; new product development; excellent customer service; policy development and implementation; optimized systems; applications and performance reports;
  • Formulate sales volume, product mix, market share and profit objectives and monitor performance against objectives. Prepare and manage comprehensive publishing/distribution plan and budget in conjunction with related departments;
  • Collaborate with the Director of National Programs in order to create an effective and efficient grant distribution (National Projects, partnerships and district grants) that meets approved policies, constituency needs, distribution volume and cost objectives set through annual planning and budgeting;
  • Collaborate with directors of various departments, with Bible Societies and suppliers in an ongoing effort to coordinate and streamline activities such as cooperative buying, promotional efforts, inventory control, etc., that lead to additional revenue generation and/or mutually desirable outcomes;
  • Participate in international publishing and distribution efforts through conferences and workshops, publishing/book fairs and other Bible Societies.
