Canadian Bible Society Engages Don Posterski as Executive Director of New Innovation Department to Reach Larger Christian Population
TORONTO, Tuesday, July 25, 2017 – Dr. William Brackney, Chair and Acting Administrator of the Canadian Bible Society announced today that Don Posterski, has been engaged as Executive Director of a new Resource Innovation Department.
“With 40-45% of Canadians identifying as Christian but not as engaged with their Church and Bible, the Canadian Bible Society wants to develop programs to reach out to this large segment of the Canadian population to make the Bible news again.” says Dr. Brackney. “Don Posterski, has a well-established reputation as a thought leader on Christianity and religion in Canada through his work in senior positions at World Vision Canada, McMaster Divinity College, Tyndale University and Seminary, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, and author of numerous books about Christianity and religion in Canada. We welcome his leadership to help establish this new innovation function at CBS as we position the Society for continued relevance and leadership in the Bible cause for years to come.”
Welcoming this new opportunity, Mr. Posterski stated: “I am excited about this opportunity to assist the Canadian Bible Society to continue its long-standing role as a contributor to the spiritual development of Canada. Canadian and world religious and Christian demographics, attitudes and behaviours are changing significantly and its essential for organizations like CBS to adapt to these changes. I look forward to working with CBS as the leader of the Bible cause in Canada and possessing the inherent strength of resources to continue this essential role.”
CBS has been translating, producing, distributing and engaging people with the Bible and Scriptures since 1804. With offices and Bible Stores across Canada, it is proceeding with the establishment of new Bible Centres in five regions. CBS is a member of the United Bible Societies.
