Kandis Cornwall: Experiencing the Heavenly Father’s Love
I grew up in a single parent home. It was just my mom raising her three girls.
I was only four years old when my dad left, so I have no memory of him. Despite the absence of my earthly father, I was raised in the knowledge of our Heavenly Father and experienced the riches the best Father can give. My Heavenly Father has comforted me in times of loneliness, encouraged me to persevere in times of adversity, and built my character as I have sought to obey Him.
In my early adult years, I chose to dedicate my life to youth ministry. I’ve seen how the world can be so tempting, drawing young people to its evils, bringing destruction to young lives. In my personal mission, I do what I can to help young people by giving them the chance to know God who listens and cares about every detail of their lives. I love sharing about God through my conversations with people.
I also love traveling – an attempt to view the grand natural creations God has given to us to care for. When I’m not traveling, I spend time with family and friends, enjoying the small things of life.
My favourite verse is Philippians 4.6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” This verse is honest about what we will experience (things will come and will happen that will make us feel anxious) but provides clear instructions on how to give it to the One who can handle everything that comes our way. I’m so thankful for the “realness” of our good Lord!
