Top 5 Bible Verses for June

Woman reading the Bible

When God provided the people of Israel manna, He gave them much more than just food. Each morning, in the wilderness, the Israelites were reminded of their dependence upon God and His ability to provide for their needs.

As we start another month in the face of challenging circumstances, we invite you to join us on our daily Bible reading journey. We are reminded of His promises and are strengthened by the One who is the bread of life.

Here are our top 5 verses for the month of June:

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psa. 91.1 (NLT)
We have been profoundly comforted by this Psalm. Our staff even recorded a video proclaiming the promises of its 16 verses. Watch the video!

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Phil. 4.6 (NLT)
We tend to rearrange the first part of this verse, don’t we? If we prayed as much as we worried, we’d have a lot less to worry about.

I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. Isa. 44.3b (ESV)
With many of us separated from our families due to physical distancing, we may fear for their protection. But His Word tells us that God is in control of everything, including our loved ones.

I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. Isa. 48.17b (NIV)
Has anyone seen plans get turned upside down lately? We certainly have! The relentless news of rising infection numbers and deaths, lockdowns, financial losses, and canceled events has generated fear and worry that burrow their way into our hearts and minds. But viewing the future through the lens of panic makes us believe that we are in control. The reality is that, although we have no authority to add a single hour to our lives (Luke 12), we believe He is directing our steps.

For I the LORD do not change. Mal. 3.6a (NRSV)
The world seems to be in a frenzy. But when we read that our God does not change, our hearts relax. Our lives do not depend on the entry of a micro-organism into our bodies. Rather, our very existence depends on God, who determines the beginning and the end.
