In Tribute to our Veterans!
It is hard to imagine what soldiers experience during their military service. May we never forget that many acts of courage have served to protect us and help write the history of our country.
We may never experience what it feels like to be in the frontlines, but we hope that the following selected Bible verses will give us an understanding about our men in uniform’s important calling and sacrifice. May these verses serve as a reminder to honour the memory of those who died serving their country and to pray for protection for those who are in active duty.
As a good soldier of Christ Jesus you must endure your share of suffering. Soldiers on duty don’t work at outside jobs. They try only to please their commanding officer. (2 Timothy 2.3-4 CEV)
Now I tell you to love each other, as I have loved you. The greatest way to show love for friends is to die for them. And you are my friends, if you obey me. (John 15.12-14 CEV)
If you hate each other, you are murderers, and we know that murderers do not have eternal life. We know what love is because Jesus gave his life for us. That’s why we must give our lives for each other. If we have all we need and see one of our own people in need, we must have pity on that person, or else we cannot say we love God. Children, you show love for others by truly helping them, and not merely by talking about it. (1 John 3.15-18 CEV)
