Top Verses for October
As the seasons change, you may notice plants blooming or dying, the weather getting warmer or cooler, and the days getting longer or shorter, depending on where you live. As the weather gets colder, it’s only natural to long for warmer, brighter times. Yet if the earth skipped any of the seasons, growth would be limited.
The same is true for the current season of your life, whatever it may be.
The Bible speaks to us no matter where we are and our desire is to help you hear God speak. We have prepared a selection of Scriptures to be read every day, providing us with the Daily Manna our souls long for. You can download it for FREE here.
Here are our five favourite verses for October:
Our God turned the curse into a blessing. Neh. 13.2b (ESV)
If you’re in a season of life that feels like an unrelenting winter, and you wish that you could press the rewind or fast-forward button on your life, know that this time is not wasted. Our all-powerful God turns curses into blessings.
Regardless of your season, allow His Word to prepare you for what is coming ahead!
And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. Col. 3.15a (NLT)
Many of the people we talk to have admitted to feeling frustration, stress, anxiety and even low-grade depression caused by the circumstances of this pandemic. The relentless news of rising infection numbers and a second wave generates worry, frustration, and fear that burrow into our hearts and minds. However, the Word of God tells us to let His peace rule our hearts.
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1.5 (NIV)
The world we live in has changed. As a consequence, we are faced with tough decisions that we could never have imagined. Can our faith help us find our way through this? The answer is yes. For the wisdom we lack, we find direction and comfort in our all-knowing God and His Word.
And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Heb. 11.6 (NIV)
In our world today, faith isn’t always a priority for people. It’s mocked, ridiculed, judged, even persecuted. Still, just like we are saved by faith, we are also called to live by faith. Not to please those around us, but to please our God. Be encouraged to persist in seeking Him every day!
The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. Isa. 40.28b (NLT)
Each time we get ready for life to get back to normal, we are faced with the reality that this is now the new normal and it may be for quite some time. While we grow weary, our God does not. And He gave us the Scriptures to give us strength and hope in every season.
