“We take the Gospel with us wherever we go around the world. We need CBS on our mission as we reach out to Tagalog speakers.” — Filipino Pastor Joseph, Saskatoon
The diaspora churches in Canada are made up of newcomers and immigrants who worship in their own language. They have vibrant ministries, a passion for outreach, and deep spirituality. They also collectively face numerous challenges in nurturing faith and reaching their neighbours, often with limited financial resources. For several years, CBS has sought out diaspora churches to provide Scripture in their “heart languages” and support leaders as they engage people in the Word of God. As a member of United Bible Societies, CBS has access to Scripture in hundreds of languages.
“I believe the Lord arranged for us to meet and voice our needs for Bibles in our language.” — Pastor Peter from South Sudan has been in Edmonton since 2004. His long search for Bibles in the Nuer language was fulfilled through CBS.
