On Nov. 24, the Canadian Bible Society (CBS) is releasing God’s Book: The Series, an eight-episode video series that puts young adults’ questions about science, suffering, sex and violence at the centre of Biblical conversations.

Developed by CBS with theologian and author Andrew Ollerton, this video resource draws on his book God’s Book: An Honest Look at the Bible’s Toughest Topics. Young Canadian hosts Mikayla Nembhard, Quinten Shannon and Juanita Castor join Ollerton to examine challenging passages within the Bible’s larger story, bringing their doubts and experiences to the discussion.

The launch comes amid a nuanced picture of faith among young Canadians. A 2026 Cardus research report supported by CBS found that 59 per cent of people between the ages of 18 to 34 believe in God or a higher power and are curious to learn more. Yet less than half of that demographic say they’ve never attended church or read the Bible, among other religious texts. For CBS, these findings underscore the importance of pairing access to Scripture with opportunities to explore its meaning.

“Making the Bible accessible also means creating opportunities for the next generation to ask questions about Scripture,” said Mary Ann Buffam, VP of Development, Marketing and Communications at CBS. “We want young Canadians to know their doubts and perspectives are welcome and that they have a place in the conversation about the Bible.”

God’s Book: The Series reflects CBS’ deep commitment to providing resources that help young adults explore Scripture and its relevance to their lives. It also equips churches, ministry leaders and communities to support that exploration through thoughtful discussion.

“Churches have seen greater engagement from young adults when they address difficult questions directly,” said Ollerton. “This series makes room for those conversations, exploring challenging Biblical passages, how the next generation can relate to them and why they matter today.”
