Canadian Bible Society Supports FIFA World Cup Engagement with Scripture Resources
Toronto, ON—June 18, 2026
In collaboration with three key ministry partners—Athletes in Action, Sports Fan Outreach Canada, and Scripture Union—CBS has provided a suite of print and digital resources designed to engage fans, communities, and churches during the tournament.
These partners are serving as the primary distribution channels, sharing resources directly with attendees at FIFA matches, fan zones, and community gatherings. In addition, materials are being distributed through church-hosted watch parties and outreach events across the GTA.
Reaching Fans Through Scripture
Through this partnership, Bibles and Scripture resources are being distributed, including:
- The Sports New Testament (Youth Sports NT), designed to connect faith and sport in a format accessible to younger audiences
- A trilingual Gospel of John (English, French, and Spanish), reflecting the diverse international audience of the World Cup and Canada’s role as a host nation
The trilingual resource features a distinctive cover motif inspired by football imagery and the three host countries—Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
Digital Engagement Through the Bible World Cup Journey
In addition to print distribution, CBS and its partners are extending their reach through digital engagement, including the 2026 World Cup 30-Day Reading Plan.
This plan invites participants to engage daily with Scripture, reflect and pray during the World Cup and connect faith with the global celebration of sport.
The reading plan is available via the CBS MyBible app and online, providing an ongoing pathway for spiritual reflection beyond in-person events.
