Canadian Bible Society Announces $1 Million Gift Establishing the Paul and Ruth Fink Fund to Advance Scripture Translation
Toronto, ON—April 13, 2026
The Canadian Bible Society is honoured to announce a generous commitment of $1 million to establish the Paul & Ruth Fink Fund. Created to advance Scripture translation and engagement, this substantial gift will directly support four distinct Bible translation projects. We are deeply grateful for this donation, which will empower more people to encounter God’s Word in their own language and cultural context.
Honouring a Legacy of Faithful Stewardship
A longtime friend, volunteer, and advisor to the Canadian Bible Society, Paul Fink has played a quiet but decisive role in strengthening CBS’ financial foundation and expanding its mission reach. His relationship with CBS began after years of international travel in his role as an investment executive, where he witnessed firsthand the urgent need for Scripture across cultures. Following his return to Canada from a trip to India, he wrote a cheque to CBS and subsequently provided strategic financial counsel that has influenced the organization for over 30 years.
Raised in a home rooted in Scripture, Paul’s deep respect for God’s Word guided every major step of his professional journey—from early years in Northern Ontario to senior leadership roles in Canadian finance, including his tenure at Fairfax Financial.
Throughout his career, Paul’s commitment remained the same: to steward resources in ways that elevate Scripture’s impact. His decades-long support helped strengthen CBS’ endowment, expand international partnerships, and bring God’s Word to communities with limited access.
A Gift That Extends a Legacy
The newly established Paul and Ruth Fink Fund will directly support four Bible translation projects selected in collaboration with CBS’ global partners. These initiatives reflect Paul’s own passion—advancing Scripture access for those who need it most.
“This gift is a powerful affirmation of Paul’s enduring commitment to Scripture ministry,” said Rev. Dr. Rupen Das, President, Canadian Bible Society. “The global church will feel the impact of this fund for generations as more people encounter the lifegiving message of God’s Word in their heart language.”
CBS is honoured to recognize Paul and Ruth through this new fund and welcomes others to join in its impact.
