Canadian Bible Society Reports Strong Growth in Scripture Distribution Across Canada
Toronto, ON — January 16, 2026
The Canadian Bible Society (CBS) is reporting sustained national growth in Scripture distribution, with increasing demand from youth camps, prisons, long term care homes, newcomer communities, diaspora churches, and Indigenous ministries across the country.
Since 2023, CBS’s total national Scripture distribution has exceeded half a million units, with the number of Bibles, Testaments, Scripture portions, and Scripture selections continuing to grow steadily each year. This reflects a deepening appetite for Scripture across Canada’s diverse population.
CBS currently distributes Scripture in more than 70 languages, meeting the needs of Canada’s multilingual landscape. This includes high‑demand languages such as Spanish, Persian (Farsi), Haitian Creole, Punjabi, Chinese, Arabic, Plautdietsch, Ukrainian, Hindi, and Tagalog. CBS also provides audio Bibles in 50 languages to vulnerable seniors in long‑term care homes and institutions nationwide.
In addition, CBS reports strong increases across ministry channels. Camp Bible distribution has risen sharply, and Scripture distribution through the Prison Ministry continues to grow year over year. “Canadians across generations and communities are seeking the hope and truth of Scripture,” said Nelly Safari, Vice President of Scripture Resources. “The surge in Camp Bible requests in particular shows young people’s deepening desire to engage with God’s Word.”
CBS remains committed to ensuring that every person in Canada — regardless of age, language, or circumstance — has access to Scripture in the format and language closest to their heart.
