Surrendering Control | Trusting God In Uncertainty

Lent Devotions 2025

“Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

In a world filled with uncertainty—wars, economic instability, and personal struggles— Lent invites us to surrender control and trust in God’s sovereignty. Just as Jesus prayed in Gethsemane, “Not my will, but yours be done” (Luke 22:42), we are called to let go of our fears and place our trust in the Father.

Surrender does not mean passivity; rather, it is an active choice to rely on God’s wisdom rather than our own. When we release our grip on the things we cannot control, we make space for God’s peace to sustain us.

This season is a time to reflect on how we can deepen our faith amid life’s unpredictability, embracing God’s plan with open hearts.

Where is God inviting us to surrender and trust Him more fully in this season?

This exclusive series of devotionals by Canadian guest authors explores how to surrender control and trust God amid uncertainty and anguish, relying on His wisdom rather than our own.
