CAMEROON: Mafa Bible Revision
The entire region where the project is implemented faces ongoing attacks by the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram, which poses significant risks to the translators and their families. Due to this dangerous situation, they may be forced to relocate to a safer area and secure rental housing to continue their work without interruption.
The Mafa people love God, the church is still growing among them and the Bible is their heritage. This revised version of the Mafa Bible will provide churches better tools for evangelism and teaching, drawing more people closer to God’s Word.
1977
The first Mafa Bible translation was completed by missionaries in 1977. Much of the language is now outdated and does not include the new language writing system.
