Our Heads Are Bowed

Our hearts and heads are bowed in shame and grief as we acknowledge the tragic loss of the 215 children whose bodies were found on the site of the former Indian Residential School in Kamloops, B.C. on May 27, 2021. We stand with the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc People, and with Indigenous Peoples across Canada.

This discovery is a critical reminder of the past and ongoing trauma and abuse inflicted on Indigenous Peoples across Canada and a strong reminder of the work we have left to do to ensure justice and meaningful reconciliation.

We are committed to doing our part to advance the conversation on Reconciliation in Canada. We will continue to learn and grow in our actions and we will continue to explore the ways in which we can support survivors and their families toward healing. This is our commitment.
