word@work Issue 2 | 2026: Update from Ukraine

Thanks to you, hard-hit families are experiencing unshakeable hope and strength in God’s Word, even in the midst of war, hardship, and uncertainty.
Ukrainian woman with Bible
Tetiana and her two children visited the children’s centre at a church in Kharkiv in autumn of 2022. With her husband away at war, it was a welcome outing.

Thanks to generous partners like you, she received a Bible and her children received their very first illustrated children’s Bibles. Reading together soon became a cherished family tradition, and God’s Word strengthened Tetiana whenever she felt abandoned and overwhelmed.

When her husband returned from the front, he struggled with anger, despair, and alcohol. Tetiana clung to prayer, and her faith deepened. Even though life at home was difficult and terrifying explosions frequently shook buildings nearby, she and her children found strength and reassurance in God’s Word.

Through the Bibles you helped provide, many came to faith in Jesus and found stability in the midst of chaos. Tetiana remains deeply grateful to those who made God’s Word available to them.

With the war in its fifth year, the demand for God’s Word is exceptionally high, and local churches are prioritizing children and youth, aware that the next generation will restore and rebuild post-war Ukraine.
